Rescue 2006

FUN DAY AT HALISTON    6TH MAY 2006

Around 70 people with their dogs attended the day. The weather was glorious although the forecasts were for rain.

The day started off with a demonstration of dancing to music by Carol and Alan Mortimer using a Grand off the lead and a Petit on the lead who is in the process of being trained. Afterwards Carol talked about the Good Citizens Dog Scheme. They also brought their agility course and after a short training session everyone had a go which proved to be very successful.

Kim very kindly brought the BGV Club Stand along and this took a good sum of money for the Club.

Heidi offered her services by giving mini massages to people which raised a healthy sum of money towards the day.

We also had a children’s quiz, raffle, tombola, bring and buy, find the flea, guess the weight of the doggy biscuit tin and finally at the end of the day anything that was left over was auctioned even a large empty cardboard box which appeared to be heavy when Martin the Auctioneer picked it up. This was SOLD to our Club Chairman. Ha! Ha!

Sponsors for the event were Pedigree Masterfoods, Royal Canin, Red Mills,Wagg, James Wellbeloved, Dorwest Herbs, Dodson & Horrell, Pascoes, Anklebone, Gilbertson & Page and Shaws.

All in all everyone had a good time and went home loaded with goodies.

On the day we raised over £900 but this does not include donations that are in the post.
