Appearing in many national newspapers and television programs the horse patrols were so successful it was decided to keep them on for the rest of the summer season. The equestrian team were seen at many local PR events and shows during the rest of the year and are still remembered fondly by many holidaymakers and locals alike.

Fortunately, there were no serious incidents on the day although several minor incidents were attended.
It may well be that as a result of the high profile of these patrols our incident count for 1999 was one of the lowest our team has had in recent years!
