Strictly Come Dancing (BBC Books 2005)
Strictly Come Dancing was a surprise hit for BBC1 – although
not for the producers, who’d believed in the project right from the start,
and who were keen to celebrate their achievement in book form. This came out in
time for the start of the third series, and relived the dancefloor highs and lows
of the previous two. It also includes a section on the history and technique of the
ten dances, and the whole thing is lavishly illustrated with original photographs.
It’s also very pink and sparkly.
The first edition of Strictly Come Dancing was lodged in the bestseller lists for
months, and ended up as one of the biggest-selling books of 2005. A second
edition is now in preparation to launch the fourth series in autumn 2006.
