IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hampshire Flexitanks regrets to announce that on August 31st 2007, the Company ceased trading, honouring all its obligations. We are therefore unable to manufacture flexitanks any more, however our links with suppliers remain, and are in a position to assist with the provision of both parts, and complete flexitanks.

Furthermore, we have a number of items used in our manufacturing process that are available for purchase, and consideration would be given to selling all items along with the necessary technical expertise to produce PVC flexitanks.

If you have any interest in the above, contact should be made via the e-mail address below.

The web page remains for background information only.

Introduction

Hampshire Flexitanks Ltd., became established during 1998 to produce PVC flexible tanks (or flexitank) for the transport and storage of bulk liquids. Since inception it had produced over 15,000 flexitanks, in its Stockbridge facility.  (view map)

Capabilities

The Company's expertise is provided by the Managing Director, Mr. Russ McDermid, whose 28 year experience spans both the manufacture and operation of these tanks. This allows us to provide comprehensive technical advice, ensuring that customers are given the optimum combination of cost and performance for their specific product or application.

Products

flexitank on lorryOur core business is the production of "Disposable Flexitanks". These are made to a proven design, using thermoplastic coated fabrics which have a track record in this application

Flexitanks are designed to be used inside an ISO 20ft shipping container, allowing the transport of bulk liquid up to the maximum payload of the container. The main advantage being that once the cargo has been discharged, the flexitank can be disposed of and the container returned to a local depot.  This alleviates the customer of any cleaning and return costs (as would typically be incurred with a steel ISO tank).

CaCO3 tankCapacities range from 12,000 to 24,000 liters; the appropriate size required is derived by dividing the net weight of liquid to be shipped, by its Specific Gravity (S.G), and rounding up to the nearest 1000 liters.

Connection to the flexitank is generally achieved either through a hose, or a surface mounted valve, examples of which can be found here.  All flexitanks have a centrally located vent to expel air, either manually or via an optional (PRV) which alleviates the need to enter the container after filling. Each style is shown here.

For the storage of liquids, "Static Tanks" can be manufactured to hold capacities of up to 75,000 liters, although this can be further increased by the parallel connection of similar units. These tanks would typically lay on flat ground, and are already in extensive use by both the Military and Emergency Aid agencies.

Other products include pond linings, tarpaulins, machinery covers, and lorry tilts. We also undertake contract H/F welding work, and will be pleased to quote on any other custom fabrications within our capabilities.

Services

The Company owns its own pumps & hoses, and with a dedicated vehicle available, can provide emergency services within a 300 mile radius of its premises.  This would typically include cross-pumping operations from a damaged flexitank (or container) into another flexitank.

Furthermore, if the situation dictates, we can often manufacture a replacement tank immediately and depending on distance to the site, can commence pumping with 4-8 hours of incident notification.

In addition to the manufacture of tanks, the Company can provide training in the installation, loading, discharge, cleaning, and repair, of all types of flexitank, which can also include the supply of pumps, hoses, and adaptors.
