Here at The Guiding Light we have recognised the need of not only offering a modern and enjoyable Spiritualist service, but to also provide information and instruction in the many forms of Spiritualism and the psychic gifts that go with them. After all many of you will be new to the subject and will probably come loaded with questions. While we believe that every individual’s journey is unique, there are many points of common ground that just about all Spiritualists subscribe to in one form or another. It’s here we try to help you along.

 

Once our main service has finished (7.30pm - 8.50pm) you have the option of just enjoying a nice cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit or two, (included with your entrance fee) and just chatting with our other visitors. Or, if your passion to learn is a little deeper, staying for our free workshop. This popular event takes place around 9.10pm - 9.45pm and is run by either the staff of The Guiding Light or the visiting medium of the evening.

 

Each week The Guiding Light invites a different medium to demonstrate their gifts of mediumship. We also invite them to run a workshop or a talk on development. While not every visiting medium takes up the opportunity, many do. A large proportion of platform mediums run their own development circle and so are well adept at teaching and conducting classes.

 

Each medium has the freedom to teach in their own particular way and style, meaning even the staff of The Guiding Light get to learn something new. Many take a keen and pro-active approach by preparing the workshop in advance and bringing along tools such Tarot cards, diagrams and typed notes for you to take home.

 

Many of the classes are truly interactive, meaning you can get actively involved in an exercise that will stimulate your own psychic potential. The classes are fun and upbeat and just about everybody who tries the exercises are often surprised by what they achieved. We have many people who attend these classes regularly, increasing their knowledge and skills from week to week.

 

We may not always know what the workshops are far in advance, but each one is announced at the end of the main service, so you can decide if you would like to stay or not. With choices stretching from Angel & Tarot cards, Ribbon readings to flower readings, psychometry and exercises with the Aura and Chakras and many others, your sure to find something to interest you.
