Spoilers:  Set  three years after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in an alternative universe.

Rain fell hard and cold.  The sky dark was always.  Since he defeated the combined forces of the earth governments.  He was Voldemort and he ruled the earth itself.

The muggles, normal men and woman were no better than slaves.   That was the dark wizard's law.

Mud bloods the first member of a family to have magical abilities were also enslaved.  The muggles had it better than the mud bloods.  At least the muggles could go home.  Mud bloods were the slave class of the wizard world.  They served their masters or died.  Voldemort alone decided which of the mud bloods would live or die.

Even Voldemort would not try to force certain people to submit to him.  Such powers are those called the Charmed One, three sisters of great power. The city they live in was spared on one condition, they never leave the city limits. Their presence insured the safety of the city of San Francisco.

Even in these dark times there was those, who would risk everything to free the world of Voldemort.

On this world a cloaked wizard followed a young woman.  The woman a member of the only resistance cells capable of pulling off a rescue from one of Voldemort's Mud blood Death camps.  She kicked an enforcer in the face.  The enforcers were muggles and Mudbloods that had sold out others of their kind in return for power.  She tossed a small throwing knife into the enforcers throat.

The last sound the enforcer heard was his neck braking.  The two freedom fighters continued their journey in the dark alley ways of the ruined New York city.  It was the last city to fall in the war.  It had been a fortress.

The battle had lasted three long hard months.  That's how it took to break a force of 10,000 men.  Not surprising since the remain Aurors and those who had escaped the Destruction of Hogwarts during the Night of Blood balanced out Voldemort's magical attacks.  Until they were betrayed from within.

"Is this the place?"  The man asked his companion.

"Yes." A brunette answered.

"Do you think they've brought the mud blood?"  The man used the insult, as one of Voldemort's enforcers flew by.  The couple pretend to be lovers instead of fighting this time.  The woman's hands roaring over the wizard's back.

"I hope so."  The woman whispered.

"Dawn."  The man whispered

"Yes." Dawn Summers replied.

"Thank you."  The man had a scar on his forehead smiled.

"It was nothing."  The woman spoke

"You risked your cell for my friend."  The pair moved on.

"We had help."  A statement.  Dawn checked round their surroundings.

"Who?" He asked.

"DS you are clear."  A voice spoke from a gem that hung from around Dawn's neck.

"You'll see." She replied, opening an entrance to a cellar.  "Get in."

He jumped in. His sword in his hand.  Dawn followed closing the doors behind her.

"Harry, I see you'll met Eric."  The sword was pressed against Harry Potter's throat.

"Magneto, this is Harry Potter."  Dawn smiled.  "He's one of the few that stand a chance to stop, 'He who can not be named.'"

The sword dropped to the floor.  "We had to call her.  The wounds were beyond Amy's abilities to heal."  Magneto informed the woman.

"Oh great." The woman called Dawn Summers was not happy.

"Who?"  Harry asked not liking the tone Magneto had used.

"Willow of the Dark Arts."  A familiar voice replied.

"Draco."  Harry's sword flew into his hand

"Potter, put that down."  Draco grinned.

"He's the one who helped us."  Dawn put a hand on his shoulder.

"Why?"  Harry glared at Dawn

"He's my Husband."  She replied.

In a dimly lit room two witches worked on one of their younger sisters. "Amy, the cat of nine tails used on her was enchanted.   I can only make sure the wounds will heal over time naturally."  Willow spoke.  "I can, however, remove the slave collar without any problems."

The crude steel ring around the younger witch's neck vanished.

"She was close to being killed." Amy spoke.

"The termination chambers."  Willow finished.  "I would say she was lucky, if she was headed there."

"You still wouldn't talk about what you did to escape the LA death camp."  Amy prepared a dressing.

"That's simple I gave in to my dark side," the witch replied. "The rest I will not tell."

Harry Potter followed a woman calling herself Shadowcat down a passage.  This woman walked though a wall.  The wall was not a wall, but a door.  It opened. "Hermione."  He gasped when he saw his friend.

Hermione Granger's back was a bloody mess. Her Hogwarts' uniform was nothing more then rags covering her staved body..  Harry rushed over to his friend.

"She won't hear you."  Willow spoke.  "My sleep spell will last for an hour at least yet."

"She needs to keep moving."  Harry spoke touching Hermione's cheek.  "They will realise she's missing."

"That won't be possible."  Magneto spoke.  "They've locked down the city.  He's found out already, wants her back."

"Start packing."  Draco ordered.  "They've started a house to house search in the neighbouring district. We have to move out."  The wizard now had a sword strapped to his back.  "His enforcers are blocking teleportation."

"How long to they get here?"  Amy asked.

"30 minutes." Dawn shouted down the passage.  "Get her shifted!"

Dawn threw a bag into a van.  A battered old van it had been customized by BA Baracus.  It was armour plated bullet proofed and thanks to Willow and Amy magic proof. She checked the fuel.

"So where are we head?" Kitty Pryde threw in her bag on top of Dawn's.

"The Charmed Ones Freehold."  Dawn checked a rifle.

"So we're giving up the city?"  The mutant was disappointed.

"It's lost already, as been before we set up camp.  Only came here to pick up a couple people and get the hell out of here."  Dawn checked another rifle.  "We've no choice, but run for one of the two safe areas left to us."

"The Freehold or the California waste lands.  Not much of a choice."  Eric put two bags in the van.  "Amy and Harry are bring the girl."

"Willow?"  Dawn asked.

"Gone again." Her husband answered.

"Dam."  Dawn made to try and find the witch her husband's hand on her arm stopped her.

"Honey, she had her resolve face on."  He spoke.  "She knows what she's doing."

"I know, Drac,"  she sighed.  "Each time she does this, she goes deeper into the darkness."

Willow stepped out of the shadows several blocks down.  "Leave, if you value your lives."  The streetlights dimmed, as Voldemort's enforcers turned to face her.

"I take orders from Voldemort himself only."  A witch spoke a wand in her hand.  Her robes that of a Deatheater.

The redhead smiled.  "So Deatheater you wish to die like so many others."  It was a statement.

"The bounty on your head makes it worth the risk." With those words the two witches circled each other.  The enforcers got out of the line of fire.

Willow's opponent let loose a hex.  The spell hit and danced over the redhead and was absorbed.  "My turn,"  She snared.  "Seco!"  The redhead pointed at the witch and moved a finger, the witch ducked the spell.

An unlucky enforcer's head dropped to the floor.

"Still want that bounty?"  The redhead giggled.  "Incendo!"

Then there was only screams of pain and the smell of burning fresh and the laughing of Willow Rosenberg.

Meanwhile, Hermione was being placed in the van.  "Room for two more."

"Angel."  Dawn smiled and turned see Angel and Connor.  Then her smile faded Connor's blade had blood on it.

"The night is long."  Draco spoke his hand on his wand.

"The day always comes."  Angel spoke.

"The light will defeat it in the morning." Connor spoke.

"Let be defeated at sunset."  Amy spoke.

"Welcome friends."  Dawn spoke.

"Let's get out of here!" Eric recommended.

The ride out of the city was quiet Willow had diverted the enforcers attention away from guarding the exit roads.  If roads was the right word for tarmac that was breaking up.  Weeds had broken though.  "I'll need to rest soon." Eric spoke.  His mutant power powered the vehicle.

"Once we reach Xavier's old pad."  Dawn informed him from the driving seat..  "Then we can all rest.."

Harry was checking Hermione's dressing when she woke.  She looked at his face and screamed.  The witch pulled away from him.  "Stay back."  She was panicking.

"Hermione, it's me Harry." He explained.

"No,"  she yelled back.  "Harry died, during that night.  I saw him die."

The sounds of the explosions filled the air.  Something or someone was attacking Hogwarts.  The blasts had woken everyone from their beds.  Dumbledore had gone to London earlier that day and now with Dumbledore elsewhere Voldemort had made his move.

In the madness of the battle.  Hermione had gotten separated from her friends.  She was now doing the only thing she could do trying to stay out of sight.  She could heard Hexes, Curses and counter curses being yelled out.

There was some screams and laughter.  Voldemort and his followers had defeated the teachers of Hogwarts.  Then silence for a time.  Broken by a scream or one of her fellow students begging for mercy.

She heard Hagrid guiding terrified first years out of the castle.  She decided to join him.    She quietly walked towards him. "Come on Hermione, we gotta get away before they catch up with us."  The half giant pushed her along.

They rounded a corner that's when they saw it.  Bodies of staff and students alike.  There was blood everywhere on the walls, on the floor.  Even Hagrid lost his stomach.

"Move now!"  A battered looking Harry yelled running from the corner they had just came from. "Go now!"  He had a sword in his hand.  He marked a line on the floor.

"Harry." Hermione hugged him.

"Go please."  He begged.

"No."  Hermione refused.

"Please,"  He pleaded. He brought her lips to his with his free hand and kissed her. "There's no more time.  Hagrid get her out of here."

The half giant picked her up.  "I love you."  He spoke a tear rolled down his check.

Harry turned back to face Voldemort who was coming round the corner.  "This time it ends."  The Dark Lord spoke.

"Bring it on."  Harry yelled back.

The others ran.  Hermione sobbed, as she was carried off.  The sound of swords meeting was heard.

The last sight Hermione had of Harry, was that of a sword being buried in his chest.

"Granger."  Draco snapped.  She was brought back the present.  "Listen to me.  This is Harry Potter."  His tone, left the witch in no doubt he was serious.

"Yeah be quiet girl."  Connor spoke.  "There some of us trying to sleep."

"Where am I?"  She asked.

"What's left of the US state of New York."  Draco answered.  Do you know what year it is?"

"2002."  She replied thinking the question was strange.

"The year is 2005."  Eric spoke from the odd looking chair he sat in while powering the van..  "You where a slave in Voldemort's gold mines for nearly a year.  Then he learned Harry might be alive so you were move to a death camp.  This group includes the resistance cell that broke you out with Draco's help."

"Now, I'm the most wanted after Harry here."  Draco mumbled.

"Don't worry honey."  Dawn giggled "I'll soon have you feeling better."  She placed her hand on his thigh.

"Would you two stop with the flirting already."  Kitty yelled.  "I'm not getting any so I'm jealous!"

"Well, I . . ." Connor began until.

"Connor."  Angel voice was low and only audible to Connor.  "Leave her be."

"How did you live?"  It was Hermione.

"I didn't."  Harry sighed.  "I was killed."

"Then what are you?" She asked

"Immortal."  Harry replied.

Hermione stared at Harry, has if he had grown another head.

"How best to explain?"  The immortal asked himself.  "Yes I know.   Since the draw of time we lived along side you.  Living many secret lives waiting for the time of the gathering, when those who remained would journey to a far off land to battle to the last. In the end there can be only one.  The one would receive the prize."

She continued to look at him if he was strange..

"Don't ask me what is it."  Harry continued.  "Not even the oldest immortal knows what it is."

"Tell her the rest will ya."  Connor groaned.  "About the game and all that stuff."

"That no longer holds true."  Harry shook his head.  "Not since Voldemort's over run."

"Can you die?" The witch asked.

"Yes,"  he replied.  "If my head is cut off I die permanently."

"What did you mean by over run?"  Draco asked.

"All the immortals around the world, have met on holy ground,  head hunters, the lot."  The immortal began.  "Voldemort had captured a quickening.  In fact several of the younger immortals had been destroyed by him."

He paused.

"He'll get the prize, if he continues at the rate he is going."  Harry continued.  "Soon he'll be an immortal, but not killable by beheading. Magic, swords, mutant powers and enchantments will all be unless against him.  Then he'll have all the time in the universe to conquer everything."

Harry closed his eyes.  He remember opening his eyes and coughing.  There was a strange feeling in the air.  "We must go now."  A voice whispered, it was Madam Pomfrey.

"What happened?"  Harry groaned, as he was pulled to his feet.

"Later."  The witch spoke and the pair vanished.

Madam Pomfrey was an immortal.  One of the old ones, at least 1000 years old.  She was powerful too.  Everyone, thought she only had enough magic to do healing magic. The true was much different she was present when Hogwarts was founded.

She sent him to study under an immortal called Duncan, he was once a Scottish Highlander.  Duncan had taught him how to handle a sword.  Then came the first great battle against Voldemort.  Duncan had agreed to let him go off and face Voldemort.

That is when he saw it.  The dark wizard destroying a pre immortal and taking the quickening.  Harry ran to inform Duncan of this.  "God help us."  The older immortal had said.

Duncan then paced for a bit.  "That's it!"

"That's what?"  Harry did not have a cue.

"I'll call council."  Duncan spoke softly

"Council?"  Harry had asked

"Whenever a threat to us appears."  Duncan explained.  "A council maybe, called on holy ground."

"So how can he be stopped?"  Kitty asked her question echoing into Harry's brain.

"By pouring all the quickening into one another immortal."  Magneto replied.  "I'm aware of many things."

"Wouldn't that be a bit of a mess."  Shadowcat pulled a face.

"There is a way."  A statement this time from Harry.  "Immortals can renounce their claim to the prize and transfer their quickening to another immortal."

Cole Turner was not a happy half demon.  Voldemort was up to something.  It was making the underworld nervous.  It was polarizing that realm. He knew no good would come of it.  So he had travelled to a witch's den. He had heard tales that she was not to be messed with.  She could easily killed demons with little trouble.  Maybe, she could break though the magical barrier that surrounded that what was going off.

Cole had destroyed several bounty hunters that day that had tried to kill him.   He did not see the one behind him.  Some else did though.  The bounty demon was reduced to ash.

"You must not drop your guard like that."  Willow smiled.

"Who are you?"  Cole asked.

"They called me Willow."  The redhead grinned.  "So tell me what do you seek of me?"

"I was hoping that someone could find out."  He began.

"What Voldemort is up to."  She spoke.

"Not even I, with all my power can brake though the barrier."  She shook her head.  "Tell me how are the Charmed ones holding up."  Willow made two cups and a tea pot appear.

"No, thanks."  He replied.

"Awwe."  Willow pouted.  "I don't get visitors often.  I have friends heading the Charmed Ones way, who need their protection."

"What kind?" Cole asked.

"Voldemort wants them destroyed,"  the witch replied.  "They are Draco Malfoy, he's a lot  like you switched sides.  Dawn Summers, a veteran resistance fighter also known as the key.  Amy Madison, a rebel witch.  Magneto, the mutant master of Magnetism.  Kitty Pryde, a former student of Charles Xavier.  Hermione Granger, a rescued slave."  She paused.  "And Harry Potter, himself."

"You know they can't leave the city."  Cole stated.

"Who says they have to leave?"  Willow grinned, she poured herself a cup of tea.  "Paige could brake off a piece of herself being part white lighter."

"What are you talking about?"  The half demon asked.

"Powers she doesn't yet know she has."

"And you would know this. . ."  Cole started to ask.

"Because, I walk the grey line where good and evil are that close there is no difference anymore."  The witch smiled.

Meanwhile, in the state of New York.  Dawn Summers had returned to the room she was sharing with her husband at Xavier's mansion.  The room was one of the old underground chambers.

Draco was brooding again.  "Honey."  Dawn wrapped her arms around him.

"I have, I bad feelin' my beloved." Draco turned to her.  "There's a battle coming I sense it.  The dark one isn't going to stop with this world."

"You've been talking with Willow."  His wife spoke.

"Yes," he replied.  "She showed me what is coming."

"What will wait until we reach the Charmed Ones."  She smiled.

"I suppose you're right."  He claimed her lips with his.

Daniel Jackson checked the systems again.  This time there was enough power to call for help.  Once he was part of SG-1, now the only one left of that team on the planet.  Jack, Sam and Teal'c had been off world when the attacks started.  The chiefs had ordered the Stargate sealed, fearing an off world attack.  This had stranded the other members of SG-1.  Then they had sealed the mountain.  It had taken him over a year to reactivate the communication systems, after digging his way though a sealed passage way.

Daniel thought he heard foot steps.

He turned and saw nothing.  He let out a breath he did not realise he was holding.

"Well, are you going to call out or not."  It was the voice of Janet Fraiser.

Daniel jumped and pointed a shotgun in the general direction of the voice.

"Dr Jackson."  Janet appeared.    She was dressed in rags that would just pass as clothes. "Would kindly not point that thing at me, please."

"You're dead."  Daniel kept his weapon trained on her.

"No,"  Janet smiled. "Barely escaped.  It's a long story."

"Well, I've got time."  He spoke.

"Time is the one thing we're all running out of, Daniel."  The doctor spoke.  "He knows about the gate, always as."

"First, tell me how you escaped."  Daniel was not going to lower his weapon, until he was sure the woman had not been converted to Voldemort's side.

"Very well," she replied. "Mind if I sit?"

"Be my guest."

Janet sat down.  "Firstly, I'm what is called a mudblood.  A witch born to muggle parents.  I'm an outlaw in his eyes."

The medical unit was over ran with the injured again.  Dr Fraiser checked the inventory list again.  Everything was running out.  "Soon, we be back in the stone age."

The sounds of gun fire were getting closer.  "Dr Fraiser!"  A soldier called.  "You've gotta move the wounded.  We've been over ran on 4th Avenue."

"If you could tell me where to move the hospital I would?"  Janet replied.

"New York."  Came a reply, it was General Hammond.  "They defeated the attack on that the city."

"How, sir?" The soldier asked.

"Some guy called Dumbledore appeared and took out that attack's leader."  The general replied.

Janet paused in her tale.  "Before, I continue it's necessary to silence a spy."  A bolt of magic flew into a corner of the room there was a scream and a creature disappeared in flames.

"That creature was called Dementor."  Janet explained.  "Now were was I? Oh yes."

The retreat to New York was not easy.  Voldemort's allies constantly attacked the retreating US armies.  The Dementors were always a few steps behind them.  Out of a force of 10,000 less than half made it to the heavily fortified New York state line.

General Hammond was wondering what had happened.  When a girl no older an 15 hit a group of Dementors with what appeared to be a ball of fire.

A soldier, no it was an officer a fellow general.  "General Hammond, I'm General Mansion" He spoke.  "If you would come this way, sir."  General Mansion was a one star general. General Hammond a two star.

"Who's that girl?"  Hammond asked.

"Someone, whose been helping us turn back attack after attack.  Her name's Ginny."  The General spoke.  "She's been saving my troops lives."

"General Mansion you know the orders, no magic users are allowed in the ranks."  The senior General was not happy.  "That was a direct order of the Chief of Staff."

"Sir," Mansion replied.  "The Chief of Staff isn't here.  He's trapped in some mountain under siege.  Airforce one was blown out of the sky."

"What?" Hammond was shocked

"That's right, sir."  Mansion confirmed.  "Final orders, good luck you're on your own.  Do what you must."

"I want all magic users off the line."  General Hammond was giving an order.

"Sir, I know you have a star more than me.  But, without her and several of her friends New York would have been reduced to ash."  Mansion replied.  "Besides, she's works for the most part undoing curses that bastard called Voldemort keeps using on my men before those dam Dementors can eat them."

"General,"  A solider not old enough to vote ran up.  "Sirs,"  He gasped.  "Message from HQ.  General Hammond and yourself to report to the forward command centre."  He passed a piece of paper to General Mansion.

Xavier's School an hour later.  The two Generals were lead though the school to an office.  There was a man in a wheelchair and brooding grey haired man a vice Admiral, an Airforce Colonel, a man wearing a long leather coat and an aging five star general.

They heard cursing from the corner of the room.  It was in Hebrew.  "Ms Pyrde."  The man in the wheelchair spoke.

"Sorry Professor." The young woman called back.  "Try it now."

"Defence grid online."  A computerized voice spoke.

"Gentleman, may we begin."  The Vice Admiral spoke.

"There are two more missing."  The man in the long coat spoke.

"We are missing no longer."  A woman with jet black eyes spoke beside her stood an old man.

"I think introductions first."  The ranking General spoke nodding at the man in the long coat.

"My name is Duncan McLeod."  The man spoke with a strange Scottish accent.  "I'm here on behalf of the immortals."

"Charles Xavier."  The man in the wheelchair spoke.  "I speak for several mutant factions."

"Albus Dumbledore."  The old man smiled.  "International convention of Wizardry."

"Willow Rosenberg." The woman with black eyes turn.  "Rebel witch alliance."

"They call me Magneto."  The grey haired man spoke.  "I represent the most of the other mutant fractions."

"Colonel Hammerson."  The old general spoke.  "Acting chief of staff New York sector."

"Colonel Patternson."  The airforce colonel introduced himself.  "East coast command."

"Vice Admiral Madison."  The Admiral spoke.  "Atlantic reverse forces."

"Janet Fraiser," Janet appeared.  "Arch witches council of North America."

"Wait!" Daniel interrupted Janet.  "You're an arch witch?  You never told anyone?"  He was almost shouting.

"What did you want me to do?" Janet countered.  "Walk a round with a sign saying experiment on me?  Use me as a weapon?  It's not easy fighting off armies.  Now were was I?"

The meeting was long and drawn out.  The result, in practice the forces represented could hold off Voldemort's advancing forces for five to six years, if they had to.  So long as their supplies could continue to be routed via Canada.

The front line was stretched out from Northern Florida though Alabama and Mississippi to Baton Rouge then inland along the Mississippi to Jefferson City then up to Lake Michigan and across to New York city.

Their only problem was where would Voldemort commit the bulk of his forces.  They learned a week later.   The city of Baton Rouge was levelled,  in the first hour.  Quickly followed by a series of lightning strikes destroying the US navel bases in Florida, fortunately the fleet was at sea.

Within hours Voldemort's forces had over ran the troops on the Mississippi defences.  Voldemort did not bother to conquer the cities his forces passed.  He used magic to cause earthquakes.  The cities of Dallas and Houston in Texas were over ran quickly this way.  Faced with destruction and certain death most of the states surrendered without any more of a fight.

About three week after the over run.  Ginny Weasley looked look over the fortress of Manhattan island. Her hands were heavy bandaged. It was the second week of the siege.  The dark wizards forces had over ran most of the outer defences.

"He's taken, Mexico City." Janet studied the map.

"He's going to win."  Ginny spoke.  "He's already over ran most of the rebel cities.  It's only a matter of time before he heads here to finish it off. Where do we run to then?"

"We can't anymore." Dumbledore spoke.  "We either win or die."

"Or they capture and torturer you."  Ginny added.

"You couldn't have save Colin."  Janet placed a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"It should have been me."  The redhead sobbed.

"How long do you think the Deatheaters would have kept their hands to themselves?"  Janet asked.  "Not long, then you would have been raped and then killed.  At least Mr Creevey, as a chance of living, even if it is, as a slave."

"I can't even go out fighting.  They smashed my hands with a baseball bat."  Ginny sobbed.

Voldemort smiled, in front of him was a young wizard.  "Tell me again Mister Wood."

"The food supplies are low, fresh water is restricted.  In fact, if the next lot of supplies is stopped.  They will run out of amuno." Oliver Wood began to tell his new master again.

"Soon after that boy had informed him of our supply status." Janet sighed.  "Voldemort cut the supply lines and enough to say hundreds died."

"How did you get out?"  Daniel asked.

"I was asked to try start an underground resistance army." She spoke.  "So I, and several others taking as many as we could, got out of the city.  The night before the it fell."

"So why are you back here now?"  The man asked.

"Cause, we need a place to stay."  A girl spoke.

"Ginny, I told you to stay outside and hidden." Janet glared at the girl.

"Dementors where getting too close."  The redhead explained.  "A couple more metres and well I would have their lunch."

"How many?" The older witch asked.

"About 50 heading to the east coast."  The young witch answered.

"Someone must have been broken out of a death camp." Janet mused.

"Death camp?"  Daniel asked.

"After the over run he began rounding up anyone, who could even remotely threaten him."  Another voice spoke from the shadows.

"Faith!"  Ginny grinned hugging the slayer.  The dark slayer's hair was cut short.  Two swords were tied to her back.  On her face was a deep scar it was fresh still healing.  She had lost an eye.

"What happened?" Ginny asked.

"Later."  Faith winked.  "I have a message from Red."

"Red?" Dr Jackson aimed his rifle at Faith.

"Who are you?"  Faith challenged the man disarming him in an instant.  His weapon was now in her hands.

"An old friend."  Janet spoke pulling the slayer off him.

Faith snorted at the man.

Hermione Granger sat on a bed in the underground complex below the ruins of Xavier's school.  The bed was much better than what she had been use to for months, it had clean sheets due to the automatic systems that were still functioning.  She thought about what had happened.  She began to cry.

"Can I come in?"  Harry spoke from the door way.

"Sure."  Hermione sobbed.

The immortal walked over and sat beside her.

"I was just thinking about my Mum and Dad." She hiccupped.  "Are they alive still or have they been killed cause of me?"

"He won't bother with them anyway."  Harry spoke softly.  "It would mean finding two more slaves.  A lot of the muggle parents are still alive.  They're kept as slaves in the lower levels of his palace.  He doesn't bother if they live or die, they're just nameless slaves to him."

"Then my?"  Hermione's eyes were wide.

"Are his slaves."  Harry nodded.  "And their only hope for freedom is if anyone is powerful enough to attack Voldemort directly and free them"

"Can't you?"  The woman asked.

"No,"  Harry replied.  "Immortals can sense each other.  Voldemort doesn't play by the rules.  He sends his forces to beat the crap out of the unlucky immortal.  Then when the immortal can no longer fight back, he deliveries the killing blow."

"You've see it haven't you?"  The witch asked.

Harry nodded.  "He killed Poppy that way."

"Madam Pomfrey is?"  Hermione began to asked.

"Was."  Harry corrected gently.  "I saw her die and I couldn't interfere.  I had been shot several times.  It was Pansy Parkinson that save my head."

"Why?"  Hermione was confused.

"Cos' she wanted out."  Was the answer.  "She was nothing more than a slave herself.  Produce offspring for who ever Voldemort ordered her to or die."

Pansy Parkinson pulled Harry's lifeless form down a small river bank.  "What I'm I doing?"  Pansy spat.  She fell to her knees in the mud and sobbed.

Harry's eyes opened, as his heart and lungs started up again.  He could hear a girl sobbing.  He looked over and saw a mud covered Pansy Parkinson.

"What am I to do?" She spoke.

"We keep moving." Harry answered.

Pansy back away from him.  "You're dead."

"Am I?"  Harry checked his stomach.  "Nope, no bullet holes there."

"I've lost it! I'm talking to a dead person."  Pansy was now in the shallows.

"Parkinson."  Harry snapped standing.  "Where are we?"

"A mile from the palace."  She blinked at him.

"Why?"  Harry asked, pulling the witch to her feet.  "Why did you save me?"

"Cos' I don't want to be a Deatheater baby machine!"  She growled.  "Have Grabbe and Goyle have their fun with me.  I'm not a slut.  I've had enough brains to keep my virginity when every girl in my year and above, in my house was getting knocked up on the bastard's orders.  Was beaten by my own father because it."

Harry studied her for a minute.  "We better keep moving.  I won't take them long to figure out you're missing."

"They think I've locked myself in my bedroom."  She stated.

"How long before they break down door?"  A question

"Usually three hours."  Pansy grimaced and was pulled along by Harry.

"Pansy's some where in the Freehold working in one of the make shift hospitals."  The immortal spoke coming back to the present.

Willow Rosenberg looked at the pool of water.  "I thought I would find you here." A came the voice of a younger witch.

"Cassie."  Willow looked at the girl.  "Why have you came down here?"

"Cause I must."  Cassandra Fraser replied.  "There's been a raiding party attacking the settlements."

"Then deal with them."

"Lucius Malfoy was leading them."

"So he lives still."
