Treat your family and friends of all ages to a free theatre adventure and enjoy an exuberant mixture of live music, song, puppetry, romance and slapstick, as Shaws classic Roman fable is brought vividly to life in this idyllic setting on the banks of the Thames.
When the timid Androcles stumbles across an angry lion, he cleverly spots a sharp thorn in the animals paw that must be the cause of the beasts bad mood. Androcles removes the thorn and the two depart the best of friends, never expecting to see each other again. But the Roman gladiators need captive humans and animals for their favourite holiday game - throwing Christians to the lions Poor Androcles and his new friend are captured and forced to become the latest unwilling contestants!
Join the Emperor, his gladiators, animals, slaves and those destined to be lion food, backstage at the imperial games.
