Vispa
Emmanuel Christian Academy
This school was opened on 3rd
January 2005. As part of the vision for the orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya – 75
children attended on the 1st day from the orphanage and local area.
The school is primary and
nursery combined and caters from 3 year to 15 year olds. The head teacher is
Nicodemus Bwana and the deputy head teacher is Godwin Amollo. All 13 teaching staff
are Christians and as part of the name of the school Emmanuel of course means
‘God with us’.
The school, has excelled over the last 2 years (2006 & 2007) in local
area exams. In these two years we have been number 1 out of 25 schools. This not
only brings pride to the teaching staff and Orphanage director, but most of all
it brings glory to God!
At present we have 202 pupils
(Oct 2007) in nursery and primary - 13 teaching staff and also 5 kitchen staff.
Because the school is a private run school we can recoup some of the expenses of
the running of the Orphanage by pupils paying school fees. Sometimes these fees
are not paid by parents because of the financial difficulties of many of the
families.
Because of the child
sponsorship scheme the Orphanage children are helped with their education and
many are excelling in various subjects such as English, Maths, etc.
God wants the best for these
lovely children in Rabuor, Kisumu.
God bless you as you stand
with us in this work of God.
