Archaeology plays a big part in my life, even though I can't "dig" as much as I'd like to anymore.
However, I've maintained my membership of the IFA, the Institute of Field
Archaeologists. I would really like to get into the finds research side of archaeology, but this has
proved virtually impossible as I don't have the money to do a postgraduate course. However,
recently I worked as an Archaeological Supervisor with specific responsibility for finds at
Chedworth Roman Villa and recently finished a contract with the Museum of London Specialist
Services (MoLSS) as a Finds Processor. In the next couple of weeks I'll be starting as a
Finds Assistant at English Heritage's excavation at Whitby Abbey, North Yorkshire.
Mike and I like to visit as many historic and archaeological sites as we can so we're both
members of English Heritage.
