ALBION INN 40 St Peters Road Broadstairs Kent CT10 2AP 01843 602904 APH Unknown Real Ale (H) Inn between Broadstairs & St. Peters which was built around 1860. Is known locally as the ‘Little Albion’ to distinguish it from the town’s Albion Hotel. It occupies the site of an old inn of the same name. Although much altered over the years it still is a cosy little pub.

BARNABY RUDGE 52 Albion Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 2UR 01843 867775 APH No Real Ale This comfortable town pub named after a Dickens novel, which was partly, wrote in the nearby Archway house. The pub started life in 1830 as the British Tar and was the George by 1849. It gained its present title in the late 60’s. It had a major refit in 2001 designed to attract a younger cliental.

BARMORAL WINE BAR (Formerly known as BOMBERS) 27 Albion Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1LU 01843 865327 Contact Pub for Opening Times Unknown Real Ale (H) This pub was formerly the tap of the sizeable 1850-built Balmoral Hotel. When it lost its hotel functions in 1946, the rooms were let out and the tap becoming the Barmoral Bar. The Book and Gem shops next door were originally the hotel's dinning room while the public gardens opposite were the bar’s tea garden. It had a change of name in late 90’s and became a keg only pseudo-modern pub. A recent change of owner has renamed the bar back to the original name and real ale reintroduced.

BRADSTOW MILL 125 High Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1NQ 01843 861108 APH Guest Beers (H) Lively pub with a Victorian exterior and an interior devised in the late 70s by Lynnard designer, David Cutmore, to look like the inside of a 15th century windmill. This has only been altered slightly over the years, but is still worth a visit. It is named after the windmill that stood at the rear of the building until 1908. Bradstow is the Anglo-Saxon name for Broadstairs, meaning 'broad place'. A Thorley Tavern

CHARLES DICKENS Victoria Parade Broadstairs Kent CT10 1QS 01843 869865 APH Unknown Real Ale (H) This bar is housed in a building over 200 years old. It came to fame around c1880 as Nuckells Assembly Rooms, an upper crust entertainment venue. It lasted until the first world war when they were converted into Anderson's café. It became a pub in the late 60's. Upstairs restaurant affords good views across Viking Bay & the English Channel.

CRAMPTONS (formerly the Railway Tavern) 139 High Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1NG 01843 860468 APH No Real Ale This pub, built in 1865, opposite the station has recently been completely reconstructed and refurbished. It now boasts a centre bar area and large conservatory. It is named after famous engineer Thomas Crampton, who built the nearby water tower and worked for Great Western Railway, keeping the railway connection alive. A Thorley Tavern.

DAVID COPPERFIELD Westwood Road Broadstairs Kent CT10 2NN 01843 869570 APH No Real Ale (H) A former Brewers Fayre restaurant/pub outlet, opened in March 2002 next to the ASDA Superstore, brought by M&B plc in 2006  and converted to one of their Harvester outlets.

DOLPHIN   55 Albion Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1NE 01843 APH No Real Ale (H) This is the oldest town pub, dating from at least 1600. Refurbished in 1999, from a very shabby look. Has been extended into next door shop - though this looks like a separate pub as it has its own bar and is even named Casey's from the outside.

It received its present name after a refurbishment by Thorley Taverns in the mid-90s. It is situated close to St. Peters Recreation Ground, home to Thanet Wanders Rugby team. A Thorley Tavern Pub.

Building was built in 1805 and started life as tailor and drapers. It became a pub when brewer Richard Tomson brought it, and got its name because Tomson & Wotton were keen to commemorate the heroes of the French wars and the fact that Nelson's corpse on deck of Victory dropped anchor in Viking bay on it return for Battle of Trafalgar.

NEPTUNE'S HALL 1-3 Harbour Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1ET 01843 861400 APH Shepherd Neame Master Brew Bitter (H) Spitfire (H) Seasonal Beers (H) Old fashioned alehouse, the type of outlet disappearing every week, popular with locals & visitors alike. Built in 1815 on site of some old fisherman’s cottages, it was used in the 1920’s as a hotel. One of its patrons in was the celebrated ministerial of the time, J H Somerton, better known as ‘Uncle Mac’ who performed on the pier. The pub’s Interior was listed in 1999.

OLD CROWN 23 High Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1LP 01843 861747 APH (10:30) Unknown Real Ale (H) This mock-Tudor pub dates from the 1830s, at a time when writer Charles Dickens was becoming familiar with the town. Indeed it is possible that he used the pub while lodging at a guest-house where Woolworth's now stands in 1837. Extended over the years but retaining a cosy atmosphere.

PRINCE ALBERT 38 High Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1JT 01843 861917 APH (10:30) Harvey's Best Bitter (H); GK Morlands Old Speckled Hen (H) Occasional Guest Beers (H) Busy one bar pub erected in 1911 to replace the original Albert which stood in the way of the High Street widening. When built due to the Victorian's objective to segregate customers, it had five bars.

ROSE 13 Albion Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1LU 01843 861917 APH Unknown Real Ale (H) This late fifty's pub built by Tomson & Wotton, is a little further back from the road then its namesake it replaced. This pub had been in existence from around 1780's. The pub is now popular with the young.

TARTAR FRIGATE Harbour Street Broadstairs Kent CT10 1EU 01843 862013 APH (10.30) Unknown Real Ales (H) This flint-clad hostelry opposite the Harbour dates from the 18th Century, though there has been a pub on the site since Elizabethan times. It is named after HMS Tartar, a frigate built in the local shipyard. Good Value seafood Restaurant above pub. Children's Certificate. A Thorley Tavern Pub.
