This pub with shuttered, leaded windows, flint facade dates back to 1795, when it was called the Queens Arms Tap, though the building is said to be much older. Its current name was mentioned on documents in 1814, when it is reputed to have been used as a officer's billet. The pub smacks of olde world charm. Thanet CAMRA pub of the Year 2001. This large former Thomson & Wotton pub was built in the 1930 at about the same time as the nearby Greyhound Stadium, which has now closed and been demolished. The stadium site now houses new homes and a garden centre. The pub is a popular young person drinking hole.
