The page below lists Scammell related books & videos that may be of interest. I have focused on books that I have actually read and videos I've seen, thus giving the opportunity for a brief review. If there are other Scammell books etc that you have seen/read please feel free to e-mail me with details and a brief review. I have not included prices as some of these items I have bought secondhand and others will vary. The web site can be found at http://www.nynehead-books.co.uk/ Review Probably the fullest history of Scammell. Profusely illustrated throughout with period b/w photos. Large format (roughly A4) 184 pages (22page colour section at rear) hard back. Highly recommended.

Review Many interesting b/w period photos, although reproduction is rather dark. Well captioned. 96 pages, hard back. Recommended

Yes, its available through the publisher, Nynehead Books. The web site can be found at http://www.nynehead-books.co.uk/ Review This is really a history of heavy haulage in the UK. Not specifically about Scammell although inevitably many are included. 136 pages, soft back colour and b/w. Thoroughly good read and highly recommended.

No, out of print Review Chapters are made up of major vehicle types with a history of each. Many well captioned period photos. 160page, hardback, b/w throughout. Highly recommended.

Contains full detailed history, specification, production figures etc. 101 pages, soft back (roughly A4) b/w and colour. If you are particularly interested in the Pioneer this book is a must. Outstanding!

Yes direct from publisher, go to http://www.warehouse.co.uk/ or go to www.bookshop.co.uk Review Not specifically about Scammell (also covers makes such as AEC, Thornycroft, Albion etc). Very detailed book with a brief history of each manufacturer and then an in depth look at each vehicle type. The Scammells covered include: the Pioneer, Explorer and Constructor. 172 pages, Hardback (roughly A4) b/w period shots (well reproduced!) and colour contemporary shots. Excellent book, again highly recommended.

The web site ican be found at http://www.nynehead-books.co.uk/ Review Excellent video of original Army Kinematograph Service training film from 1942/43 covering the Pioneer SV/2S recovering amongst other things a Churchill tank. Also includes footage of Tank transporters (both Pioneer and Diamond T). If your into the Pioneer you'll love this.
Title Beach Recovery Cover Publisher MT Video Year 1999 Running time 61 minutes Order on Web? Yes, its available through Nynehead Books. The web site can be found at http://www.nynehead-books.co.uk/ Review Video version of original Army Kinematograph Service training film from 1946 showing the work of a beach recovery section. Includes Sherman BARV, Ward La France, D8 Cat, DUCK and of course a Pioneer. Not as much on Scammell as the video above but still fascinating.
