1955 Scammell 6X6 Explorer

In February 2006 I bought NSU 425, a 1955 Scammell Explorer recovery tractor in a un-restored but very orginal state. I had intended to restore her but in February 2007 I decided to sell her to another enthusiast..

Shots taken after a road test for the 2006 show season in which I showed the Explorer un-restored. The vehicle required some minor mechanical work to bring it up to road worthy standard.

The Explorer is still fitted with a Meadows 10.3 lt petrol engine returning about 3mpg.

The Explorer has now gone to a new home due to all my time being spent on other restoration projects and the purchase of a barn that had too smaller doorway to get her in!
