Animated Sheet Bend

This knot is used to join two ropes and has added security over the sheet bend. It is the prefered bend when the two ropes are of differing sizes.

Double Sheet Bend (S.Kennedy) Tying Instructions
The major things to remember about the double sheet bend is to make the bend with the smaller rope and always have the two free running ends on the same side of the finished knot. Fold the end of the first / larger rope over to create a 'loop'. Run the smaller rope up through the loop and around the first rope twice and under itself. Not down through the 'loop'. Pull to tighten.
