Animated Sheet Bend

This knot is used to join two ropes and works best when they are of equal size. When the ropes are of unequal size it is far safer to use the double sheet bend. If the size difference is not too large then this knot can be used.

Sheet Bend (S.Kennedy) Tying Instructions
The major things to remember about the sheet bend is to make the bend with the smaller rope and always have the two free ends on the same side of the finished knot. Fold the end of the larger / first rope over to create a 'loop'. Run the other / smaller rope up through the loop, around the first rope and under itself. Not down through the 'loop'. Pull to tighten.
