APPEARANCE

Adder is a 31 year old human male, with gray eyes and brown hair, though he keeps his head shaved. He often has stubble on his face. His skin is a tan yellow, reflecting his mixed Baklunish and Oerid heritage.

At 5'9" and 220 lbs, many jokingly consider him to be an oversize dwarf without the beard, but no one dismisses his physical toughness or his professional conduct. Many a time he has taken magical abuse from his own party that would fell lesser men (at least three fireballs and one call lightning). Indeed, his professional conduct was one of the things that led to a conflict with his own mercenary band, and resulted in his imprisonment by an employer.  In dress, Adder looks more like a sailor or pirate with his bandana, tight pants, and loose shirt and vest. He is often expressionless and moves casually and deliberately. His eyes are cold and calculating.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Adar Pelgrin was born in the town of Exag, which lies in the Mounds of Dawn in northwestern Perrenland.

Mispronunciation led to his nickname, "Adder". Adder entered the mercenaries in 572 at the age of 17, and served two years as a crossbowmen, seeing limited action in the Yatils. Leaving the army of Perrenland in 574, Adder continued to improve his fighting skills in Schwartzenbruin under the tutelage of Hellas Damthar. 575 C.Y. found Adder several hundred miles south in Flen as a bodyguard to a young nobleman mage named Methas, who in turn eventually formed a mercenary adventuring company in late 575 C.Y.

Over the next 8 years and a change of career in 577 C.Y., this adventuring company would range as far as Molag, Westkeep, and Lopolla. Eventually several unfortunate incidents and personality conflicts caused the group to disband in no uncertain terms in 583 C.Y.

By this time, Adder was of sufficient experience to run a guild of his own if he so desired, and after consulting with his own Guildmaster, Farn Ghenig, he left Keoland and jouneyed north. In late 583 C.Y., he found himself in Molvar as one of the Guild Masters at the Palace of Shadows, a pre-eminent school for thieves, spies, and assassins in Ket.

However, he was dissatisfied with his occupation, and left in early 585 C.Y., heading south again to Keoland and Flen.

RECENT HISTORY

Adder found interesting employment in the service of the Keoish spymaster, Thoggin Oakley, and has since joined one of Thoggin's units, Griffin Team, hunting a Scarlet Brotherhood spy in Gradsul.
