The 'Eye of the Beholder'
This magical eye was created specifically for Akhan by the great mage, Zarn Varnt, after he lost his right eye in the battle of Galden Field.
The eye was made from a purest deep green emerald, and is obviously not a natural eye to those who see him. The eye can only be removed by wish, limited wish or similar, or physically upon the death of its owner.
The eye has the passive powers of: Ultravision 120', infravision 90', detect concealed doors 4 in 6, detect secret doors 3 in 6. These powers can are automatic and can be used 24 hours a day without penalty, except when the eye is covered.
Its active powers are: telekinesis (500 gp weight, 120' range), detect magic (30' range), detect good/evil (30' range), detect invisibility (30' range). These powers can be used for a total of 10 rounds (altogether eg 5 rounds telekinesis + 5 rounds detect invisible ) before the eye must be covered for 12 hours, leaving the owner with a -1 'to hit' disadvantage during combat. Before using these powers again, the owner must get at least 8 hours sleep.
Its special power is ESP (30' range) which can be used for a total of 5 rounds before the eye must be covered for 24 hours, with the same combat disadvantage as above. Before using this power again the owner must get at least 12 hours sleep.
Each time a power is used, there is a chance (5% active/ 10% special) that the owner will develop a splitting headache. 70% of the time this will last for 10-100 minutes, and cause its owner to fight at -4 'to hit', and be unable to cast/memorise spells. The other 30% he will be made unconscious for 5-60 minutes through the pain. In both cases the eye must be covered for 12 hours before use (combat disadvantage as above), and then the character must sleep for 12 hours before using any power.

Wanted in Mitrik, Veluna, for burglary. Although not too well by the Constabulary there, he is more worried about the Ragishim, the cities main Thieves' Guild, who have put a price of 5,000 gp on his head for stealing from a protected jeweller's shop without permission.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Akhan Bherrullian is a wandering rogue, a catspaw who has never affiliated himself to one city's Guild. He enjoys the free and easy life, and the fineries that his skills can bring him. His family are reasonably well-to-do corn merchants, originally from Celene, but now settled in the Free City of Dyvers. They are embarrassed by their wayward son and have disowned him. Akhan does not tend to use of reveal his family name.
Since leaving Dyvers he has toured the central counties around the Nyr Dyv, plying his twilight ways and enjoying the good life it brings him without responsibility. The country where he has spent most of his time is the Kingdom of Nyrond, where he has run up excessive gambling debts.
During the Dark War, he became enlisted in the cause of good, (uncharacteristically responsible for him) spying for the Shield Lands forces in Iuz, the lands of the Wegwiur (Wolf Nomads) and Perrenland. First discovering and breaking up a covert supply route between the evil forces of Iuz and the Chakyik (Tiger Nomads), he then uncovered a traitor within the Shield Lands spy ring, delaying the downfall of Admundfort.
Gathering with other refugees in Greyhawk he moved with the armies of good towards Keoland, where the Dark Hordes were converging. With his good friend, the giant Frutzii paladin, Sir Thanoin Varkrunden, he accompanied Lord Aranon of Oakhart, Sheyr Bn'Griz, Lancer and others to defeat the evil of Lolth, evil Goddess of the Drow.
Defeating Lolth, the party found themselves magically thrown back into the last stand of humanity, the Battle of Galden Field. Deciding the battle was too hot, and he having done his part, Akhan hid in a nearby copse. There he stubled onto who he later found out to be the treacherous Lominstrall and two Drow, plotting the assassination of King Kimbertos. Discovered, he ran only to be hit in the right eye with a hand crossbow bolt.
Losing the eye, Akhan awoke days later to find that the magist of Count Fimuth of Axewood, Zarn Varnt, had replaced it with a magical eye, the Eye of the Beholder. This emerald gem, when shown from under its eyepatch, gives Akhan a strange, otherworldly look.
He then joined the group of adventurers including the rogue Eloi Brand, who went on to save King Kimbertos from assassination twice. He became the lover of Count Fimuth's wife, Hanali Thenarin, and then discovered Fimuth's involvement in the treachery.
RECENT HISTORY
Akhan now lives in Tringlee with Hanali, at Seldar Palace, home of her cousin Duke Grenowin of Ulek. After finding out that she was expecting their child he received the call from Raven to join Griffin Team in Gradsul, which he did.
