Rebellion in the Pomarj [93]
Upon receiving their own independence, the new nations of
Celene and the Principality of Ulek immediately released the
cities of the Wild Coast from their rule [80]. But the Dwarven
Prince retained the Pomarj, which was traditionally considered
part of Keoland.
The humans remaining in the Pomarj supported their dwarven
overlord during the negotiations for Ulek statehood. Shortly
after Ulek's independence from Keoland, however, the greedy and
ungrateful lot rebelled, declaring themselves free of any nation
[94,96,97]. In part, they had become jealous of the free status
and wealth of their Wild Coast counterparts. The Dwarven Prince
peacefully allowed them to go their own way [98], and Keoland
refused to intervene. The independence of the land was initially
to the humans' profit but would ultimately bring upon them their
doom [99].
