SKATEBOARD SONG
Written by Lauren Laverne
Sung by Lauren Laverne

[You're all a bunch of crazy mothers]

I'm gonna buy a new skateboard,
It's gonna be so good.
'Cos I'm gonna go down the car park,
And practice 'til I'm good.

Then I'll say to ya,
I love Skateboarding.
I love everything it's so cool,
I like it when the girls beat the lads and make them look crap.

I came home from the city,
'Dodge' was assembling my board on the settee,
I gave him thanks,
He took this stance.
He turned to me and said:

"Well I love skateboarding,
I love everything it's so cool.
So don't bother to thank me,
Coz I'll do it for free."

At 15:03 I arrived at the car park,
The asphalt was warm to the touch, Not an unpleasant sensation.
My move backfired,
I fell, I landed,
Shut your mouth Montrose,
I'm talking about a real high.

I hate skateboarding,
I hate everything it's so shit.
And you know I've just wasted,
Ninety-five fucking quid.

I was on my way home,
When I met my gang of black widows.
There were all seven,
I told them my story and they laughed and said:
"We've had a buzz but still...

We love skateboarding,
We love everything it's so cool.
So get back on and we'll promise,
In a week or two, you'll rule."

Well I got back on and they were right,
Now I can 'Olly' and I'm not so shite.
I like it when I do a new move,
And impress all around us.
And I want to say to ya:

"I love skateboarding,
I love everything and so should you.
You've got to try it,
Cos you'll look really, really, really cool...
...or something."
