• THE BIG BREAKFAST
1997 The band are invited aboard Zig & Zag's spaceship en-route to the planet Zog. Pete disappears, but Emmy, Marie and Lauren continue smiling... • THE OZONE May 1997 Along with Jayne Middlemiss, the girls were invited to Peter Stringfellow's cunningly and modestly self-titled nightclub "Stringfellows" to promote their record "Nightlife". • TOP OF THE POPS May 1997 See the band perform 'Nightlife' which entered the charts at number 27. Talk about Kenickie nostalgia - notice Elvis Wesley on keyboards! • THE JACK DOCHERTY SHOW July 1997 A late night spot on Channel 5's Jack Docherty Show allowed Kenickie to perform Punka (re-release) to the nation..... Keep a look out for Lauren's special silver guitar. • LIGHT LUNCH February 1998 Lauren was a special guest on the last in the series of cult daytime TV show 'Light Lunch'. The show also featured Saffron from Republica. • JO WHILEY 20th May 1998 This Channel 4 show featured Lauren on her own where she contributed to musical debate instigated by Radio One's Jo Whiley. Some really great pictures of Lauren await you.....

• I WOULD FIX YOU
May 1998 A collage of shots taken from the promo video to "I Would Fix You", which entered the charts at a criminally unmerited number 36. • FULLY BOOKED 31st May 1998 The band spoke to Gail Porter whilst Pete hid. When Pete returned Kenickie performed "I Would Fix You..." • MASHED 11th July 1998 The promotion for "Stay in the Sun" weaved it's way onto children's TV, again, but this time on ITV. The show featured picture competitions, a big jar of sweets and a talking monkey. No, really. • GMTV 10th August 1998 "Stay in the Sun" performed literally in the sun, sending Kenickie's 'live by satellite' performance from Majorca into the living rooms of housewives across the country. • AT HOME WITH LAVERNE & VERN September 1998 A transcript of what surely seems a short screen-test for Lauren Laverne. Originally aired on teen cable TV channel 'Trouble', both presenters soon went on to host shows on UK PLAY. • MINT ROYALE/LAUREN LAVERNE - "DON'T FALTER" January 2000 Summertime pop tunes in the middle of winter? Surely not! What "Get In" was to Kenickie's demise, "Don't Falter" does the same to Lauren's resurrection. A beautiful tune and a wonderful video to match. • PLANET POP/LAUREN LAVERNE January - May 2000 Lauren co-hosts T4's 'Planet Pop' prior to embarking on her new, solo career... |
