| The Allt, named after the the prominent ridge, Allt Yr Esgair, that guards the beautiful and fertile Usk Valley, is known to have been built before 1706. It has been home to a number of families since then, and seems to have been extended by each one of them in some little way, changing it from the humble cottage it once was. Its original walls are nearly 4 feet thick in places. |
