Jim Lee recounts a couple of incidents regarding Jankers (although he neglects to give his score, perhaps you lost count Jim?)

One story about Jankers is when we no longer had all our own webbing and drew a set from flight stores when needed (quite often in my case) Usually as it was only kept for Jankers it was always in good condition and only needed a quick once over to be ready to go. Well this time I got 3 days for smoking or some such and went and drew the webbing, it looked good so I just put it together. Too late I noticed that one of the ammo pouches was new and had never seen Blanco in its life so I bit the bullet and went on defaulters parade as is. The duty officer that night happened to be a young national service education officer. He got to me, looked at me and said, " That pouch is not clean!" Off the top of my head I replied, "It is brand new sir and the Blanco would not take". "OK" he said "but make sure you give it a good coat by tomorrow." I wish I could think that quick all the Time.
