Oakwood Farm

Activities

Depending on your choice of holiday, hacking or instruction, the riding will consist of at least 18 hours per week.

Instruction

A typical day will consist of a 9:30am start, usually on the flat, a break one hour later for coffee and stable management. At 11:30am you will have your second lesson, flat or jumping where the ability allows, then after lunch to round up your riding day, relax for an hour hacking out in the picturesque Devon countryside.
The rest of the day, from about 3:30pm onward is free to unwind or sight-see. Alternatively, we can structure your riding towards BHS exam preparation, Stage I or II, or if you prefer, we can specialise in dressage or jumping.

Hack

Should you choose to hack, again this will consist of 18 hours per week, usually pub or picnic rides taking in some of Devon's green lanes, common land and forestry.

Further Information

Although we aim to make your holidat fun and friendly, you will find the household very laid-back and relaxed, it is important also that we look after your safety on the rides.

Please note that we can also arrange riding to suit individual needs of less than 3 hours per day if required.

No-one will be asked to ride beyond their capability, small groups, a maximum of six, means we can give a much more personal service. All rides are escorted.

Instruction is given by qualified BHS A.I or BHS I.T. Additional lessons are by arrangement at extra cost. Non-riding guests are most welcome.

Each rider will be matched with the most suitable mount for the duration of your holiday.

The holiday runs Saturday to Saturday with the exception of short breaks. Guesta are requested to arrive after 3pm on the day of your holiday and vacate the room by 10am on the day of your departure.

The holiday caters for unaccompanied 16 years plus, and accompanied 10 year olds.
