Eugene - HOME BRIEF HISTORY
Eugene started life as a 1600 sprint in bare ali & red fibreglass with clamshell wings. I purchased it back in 1986 (I think), second hand, and at the time it was my only means of transport, and remained so for 5 years.

After living with the Eugene as an only car of the first 3 years and as a result of a desire for more power, better handling and a new look (the usual things any Seven owner plays with ad infinitum) Eugene MkII was born.

We carried on in this guise together for a number of years until the oil consumption met petrol consumption and a new engine was required. You can read about the Vegantune powerplant I chose elsewhere in these pages.

A slight mishap a few years or so back resulted in the Eugene of today. I was unable to perform all the work myself so turned to 7 specialists and friends (often one and the same and usually based at The 7 Workshop) who have between them, and with no little hindrance from myself, produced the fine specimen you see before you.

Today Eugene is still an Ital live axle (I love the handling), long cockpit (but with bench seats), 4 speed (Escort Sports ratios have proven ideal for the engine) 'box car with Vegantune powerplant. The difference between this and the original is chalk and cheese. But the best part is the fun and enjoyment I have had through the years to get to this stage. What is next I wonder?
