About Pennine Platform
The magazine is normally published in May and November. It continues to be closely associated with the poetry workshop group, Pennine Poets, though Pennine poets have no privileged access to its pages! While many of its subscribers and contributors are from Yorkshire, it has a wider (including overseas) readership and it has published poets from Denmark, Hungary and the US, as well as Scotland, Ireland and the South of England in the last couple of issues. Institutional subscribers include Harvard University, UCL, other UK universities and libraries including the Poetry Library, the Northern Poetry Library and the Scottish Poetry Library.
It is a serious-minded magazine, eclectic in the kinds of poetry published, though always looking for well-made poems that work in the mind's ear. Its editors have largely been academics, the last three having taught either in Bradford or Leeds University. The magazine also publishes reviews and articles on poetry.
