The Elmet Trust

The Elmet Trust - theelmettrust.com

The Elmet Trust is a charitable company whose purpose is to promote and celebrate the life and works of Ted Hughes, Mytholmroyd’s famous son and late Poet Laureate. The Trust is handling The Ted Hughes Project, which is generously supported by The Halifax. The Project includes establishing regular festivals in the village and, through working closely with Yorkshire Forward and Calderdale Council, we aim to open Hughes’ birthplace at 1 Aspinall Street in the near future. Other plans include the construction of poetry trails in Mytholmroyd.

We are a small enthusiastic group of volunteers who love Ted's work and are determined that his literary legacy will live on through events such as exhibitions, festivals and walks in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire.
