Lord Clifford created Earl of York, Sir Humphrey Bourchier created Lord Cromwell.

 

Mid January

Duke of Exeter and Earl of Wiltshire loot gifts from the Crown. Armed risings in the shires against sequestration of rebel estates. Court at Coventry.

 

January 25th

Earl of Wiltshire sails from Boston with loot.

 

January 30th

Earl of Warwick takes four Hanse ships.

Westminster Chronicle Issue 01 - "Crime Wave Hits England!"

 

February 9th

Calais rebels land at Gravesend. Rioting in Buckinghamshire and Dover.

 

February 10th

Court moves to Buckingham. Rebels march to Southwark. Westminster Chronicle Issue 02 - "Yorkists Invade Kent - It's War!" Interview with the Earl of Salisbury.

 

February 11th

Court advances on London but retreats to Berkhamsted upon hearing of the rebel's entering the capital.

 

February 15th

Earl of Salisbury defeats Royal army under Lord Grey de Ruthyn at Battle of Dartford.

 

February 16th

Peace negotiation between Court and rebels through Archbishop Bourchier and the Papal Legate.

 

February 17th

Westminster Chronicle Issue 03 - "Yorkist Victory at Dartford!"

 

February 18th

Viscount Beaumont created Earl of Lincoln, Viscount Bourchier created Earl of Essex, Sir Roger Clifford created Lord Clifford, Sir Thomas Gresley created Lord Manchester, Sir John Parr created Lord Oxenholme, Sir Thomas Wolsey created Lord Wolsey. Court retreats to Coventry under ruse of retiring to Oxford.

 

February 22nd

 Court reaches Coventry.

 

February 23rd

Mutiny aboard the Royal fleet at Southampton put down by Sir John Stanley.

 

February 24th

Rebels set siege to Court at Coventry.

Earl of Pembroke defeats Sir William Herbert at Battle of Llandovery.

Duke of York lands at Newport. Westminster Chronicle Issue 05 - "Coventry Under Siege!" King summons Great Council to Coventry for 20th of March.

 

March 3rd

John de la Bere resigns as Bishop of St. Davids.

 

March 4th

Rioting in London.

 

March 5th

Earl of Northumberland relieves Berwick.

 

March 6th

Earl of Northumberland relieves Roxburgh. Refugees leave Coventry.

 

March 9th

Treasury refuses payment of receipts from certain Officers of the Crown. Westminster Chronicle Issue 06 - "Berwick Relieved!" Court publishes provisional agenda for Great Council.

 

March 10th

Nevilles lift their siege of Coventry and pull back to Rugby.

 

March 11th

Court leaves Coventry and moves north. Earl of Devon captured by forces loyal to the Duke of York.

 

March 15th

York enters Gloucester in state to rapturous applause.

 

March 16th

Court arrives in Derby. Earl of March kills Duke of Exeter in skirmish outside Worcester. Westminster Chronicle Issue 07 - "Duke of Exeter Dead!" Pope publishes endorsement of the right of the Dynasty of Lancaster to the English Crown.

 

March 17th

King cancels Great Council and opts for military solution. Court moves northeast.

 

March 19th

Court reaches Newark.

 

March 25th

Court takes Conisborough Castle.

 

March 26th

Court enters Doncaster. Westminster Chronicle Issue 08 - "Great Council Off - Court goes for War!"

 

March 27th

King dismisses Duke of Buckingham but reinstates him upon opposition by Earl of Northumberland.

 

March 30th

Earl of Devon released in exchange for Lord Bonville.

 

March 31st

Dukes of York and Somerset tour London and Westminster.

 

April 1st

Earl of Warwick injured in cavalry skirmish.

 

April 2nd

Court at Newark. King announces new Bishop of St. Davids is to be Bishop Bird of St. Asaphs.

 

April 3rd

Westminster Chronicle Issue 09 - "Warwick Slain!" Papal Legate offers Bishopric of St. Asaphs to highest bidder.

 

April 8th

Court under Duke of Buckingham defeats and kills Earl of Salisbury at Battle of Rugby.

 

April 10th

Duke of York defeats the Court and captures King Henry at Battle of Melton Mowbray. Earl of Oxford arrives in Dublin as new Lieutenant of Ireland.

Unseasonal snowstorms ravage the country.

 

April 14th

King Henry summons Parliament to Westminster for May 14th.

 

Mid April

Yorkist forces suppress disorder in the Midlands.

 

April 19th

King Henry, accompanied by the dukes of York and Norfolk, enters London to cheering reception.

 

April 24th

Westminster Chronicle Issue 11 - "Cabinet Reshuffle as Reformers Hunt Queen."

 

May 14th

Lord Clifford accuses the new Government of breaking Magna Carta, claiming that there's been too little time for peers and MPs to travel. Parliament is prorogued.

 

May 21st

State Opening of Parliament. Most Lancastrians detained since Melton Mowbray are released. Exceptions are the Earl of Lincoln and Bishop Bird of St. Asaphs.

 

May 28th

Lord Greystoke fights the Scots to a draw at Longtown.

 

June 18th

Parliament closes having discussed many issues: reform and other weird stuff. The important bills are the Reversal of the Yorkist attainders and the Finance Bill.

 

July 2nd

 Piracy in the channel frightens trade away.

July heatwave.

 

August 4th

 Heatwave turns to drought, threatening harvest.

Viscount Grey de Ruthyn hosts the society event of the year; his daughter's wedding to Sir Robert Greystoke.

Royal Tournament in London: Bastard of Burgundy wins Lancelot du Lac Cup, Bastards Cup won by Sir Thomas Fauconberg. Bishop Bird of St. David's uses occasion to vilify York government to the crowd.

 

October 20th

Fighting between members of Beaufort retinue in Bristol

Archbishop of Canterbury publishes Stillington inquiry. "…no benefit in pursuing…heretics…". Bishop Chedworth demands inquisition into Lincoln Diocese.

London elects Richard Lee as Mayor.

Mayor of Bristol adjourns inquest into deaths of October 20th.

Earl of Devon assaults Bristol Hospital, taking 2 Beaufort retainers prisoner.

King Henry visits Winchester to spend a week with his friend, Bishop Waynefleet.

 

December

Bishop Bird of St. David's harangues York government from his pulpit.

Duke of Somerset stuns the art world with 'Beaufort Tapestry', a Christmas gift for the Count of Charolais.

 

Christmas Eve

Mayor Lee announces 1460 was a good year for landed incomes, below average for trade.

Earl of Shrewsbury and Viscount Beaumont escape from the Tower of London.
