SHERMAN FIREFLY NEW MATERIAL

Page of links to new material on the Firefly, that has come to light since the book went to press. When I get my copy of the book I will also go through it to check for any errors that have slipped through and put them up on this site, via this page as well.

Errata File ready

Errata file.

Steve Zaloga sent me copies of US National Archives material that adds to that already in the book and proves (plus many other things) that the US had a batch of M4A3 Wet 17 Pounder conversions made, some with HVS!. This is the first proof of any Fireflies made on any other hulls than M4, M4A4 and the solitary Grizzly. This is amazing new material. Links to the information are below. My utmost thanks go to Mr Zaloga for passing me this wonderful information.

1. New material on US Conversions, including M4A3's. There is also a link to a page with a list of the serial numbers and other details of the Shermans converted.

2. A series of three tables listing the US conversions, by production number, then by serial, then by shipping date. Version 1, to be checked and updated.

3. Article on a 1/18th Scale Sherman Firefly IC under construction, by the author.

4. New material Firefly conversion work for M4 and M4A3 (typed 30/Dec/01).

5. Updates to the book, new material ie Service Release 1!

6. A selection of Firefly detail photos

7. Four photos of two turrets used as field defences in the Netherlands, from Caspar Vermeulen.

8. This is a copy of the list I made from my visits to the IWM listing all the Firefly photos I found. I thought people might find it useful in identifying photos or planning a vist to the archive themselves. I also aim soon to put a list of books with Firefly photos in them, with notes and detailed captions, that might be useful.
