Summer Camps 2011

After the success of last 2 years' camps in helping those selected for JDC in the County and other young players. I will be running again not 1 but 2 Summer camps of the same format this summer. The sessions will be for any young player who has played hockey before at either club or school and would like to learn at little bit more. I am also happy to run these Camp formats in conjunction with clubs for the benefit of club coaches and players.

During the camp, we will be coaching the core skills outlined by England Hockey Association, which form the base for JDC training.. These will include for outfield:

	ball carrying,
	hitting and receiving,
	tackling,
	ball retention,
	3 D skills,
	reverse stick pick ups and hits
	game play.

For goalkeepers, this will include:

	hand and footwork,
	movement and positioning,
	Interception,
	smothering.

The dates for the camps will be:

July 25th - 28th

	25th to27th will be Outfield players
	28th will be for Goalkeepers

August 22nd to 25th

	22nd to 24th will be for Outfield players
	25th will be for Goalkeepers

The Camps run from 9.30 for 10.00 start to 16.30 finish for outfield. The finish for GKs is at 14.30

The Camps are likely to be held at Watford Grammar School/West Herts HC pitch off the Hempstead Road (West Herts HC) - Directions can be downloaded here.

The cost for the camp is as follows:

	1 day £40
	2 days £75
	3 days £110
	1 day GK £60
