St. Chad's Gifting for 2009 St Chad 's always gives 10% of its parochial giving income to a selection of charities. This year the sum available for distribution is £9,950. The policy of charitable giving approved by the PCC is as follows:- • Charities supported need not have an explicit Christian connection, though all should be carrying out the Christian mission enjoined in Matthew 25: 35-36 • Local, national, & overseas charities are eligible for support, though no fixed proportion will be assigned to each category • Given the limited funds available, preference will be given to smaller (usually local) charities with a limited range of other support, so that our relatively small contribution will make a greater difference • Notwithstanding that, small contributions may be given to large Christian charities to indicate continuing support for their mission. |
