This is an example of how a curved track
stairlift would look.
The example shown above may have a stairlift fitted on either
side of the staircase. If fitted on the left hand side (as shown) the
track could also run onto the landing. If fitted on the right hand
side the track could wrap around at the top or bottom for parking, shown
below.
For where
thereis no straight stairlift
option,
WARNING: Be
careful of any company who offers to terminate the stairlift
over steps. In our experience, this leaves the user dismounting
and mounting the stairlift in an unsuitable position.
Curved Stairlift:
User will mount lift at ground level and
travel upwards, until the lift stops level with landing. User
can then swivel seat to 45° or 90° so that feet will be over
landing area for dismount.
Extras:
Bottom Hinge: Where a
doorway is located in close proximity to the bottom of the
staircase or where the lift runs into an open hallway. There is
an option for the bottom section of rail to fold back out of the
way, to prevent a tripping hazard.
