The Regimental War Memorial

The Memorial at Crich in Derbyshire was built on the site of a signal beacon in Crich, Derbyshire. It overlooks 8 Counties on a good day but principally Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

It was originally dedicated to the fallen of World War 1 in 1923, but unfortunately further wars have meant that further plaques have been added to commemorate the fallen to date.

The memorial is open to visitors every day, and by night an electric beacon can be seen for miles around. If you require directions, email me.

Below you will find a photo of the tower. Click on each link to see a close up of the area. I have tried to reduce the size of images to save server space and peoples frustration who don't use a 1280 x 1024 resolution like me, but the Crich page really is difficult to use if you use screen resolutions of less than 800 x 600. I'm sorry, but any smaller and the images would be so poor quality that I would be to embarrassed to display them.

If you want a higher quality copy of one of the photos for strictly non commercial personal use, please email me and I will supply a full size jpeg.
