Shin splints refer to an inflammation of the muscle tendon unit on the front side of the lower leg. This type of injury has several possible causes including overuse. Runners seem to suffer most from shin splints. The other main causes are:
weak arches If you suffer from shin splints you may need to temporarily cut back on the volume of training or change activities, you may need a better pair of shoes or you could try running on a softer surface. If you have any questions on this
