Fourways has presented theatre productions in the
High Wycombe Area for over fifty years, and we look forward to providing a wide
range of entertaining and thought-provoking productions in the
future.
Our
members come from from all age groups and all walks of life, and we
all share an enthusiasm for for the performing arts.
Drama groups are a
great way of meeting people, so if you'd like to join us please
contact us or come along to one of
our meetings and see how we work. You don't
need to have previous experience or expertise - just bring your interest and
enthusiasm! |

We started way back in 1958 with a production of
'Women Aren't Angels' at Mill End School, and the following year began a long
run of annual pantomimes which funded the group's other activities. As you will
see from the list of our past
productions, the enthusiasm and funding were available to mount some
ambitious large cast productions which were always well received. |

| Many changes have taken place over the fifty years.
The high pressures and long hours of modern working life limit people's time,
but not their enthusiasm for quality drama. These days our style is more that
of a jobbing theatre company, prepared to tackle all sorts of drama whenever
and wherever the opportunity arises. |

|
| In common with other local
groups, we face the practical problem of finding appropriate
venues for both rehearsal and productions.
Although the Wycombe Swan is a terrific facility for the town, it's too large
and expensive for regular use by local groups, and of course the annual
professional panto is formidable competition! The Town Hall however, with its
flexible seating, is an ideal size and many Fourways productions take place
there. |
|
| To fit in with member's busy
diaries, we run each production as a project, drawing on acting, technical and
support talent from a pool of resource. So even if your spare time is limited,
there will always be an opportunity to be involved - all are
welcome! |
