The Madness of George III is a 1991 play by Alan
Bennett. It's a fictionalised biographical study of the latter half of the
reign of George III of the United Kingdom, his battle with mental illness and
the inability of his court to handle his condition.
The play had its premiere on 28 November 1991 at the
National Theatre in London. The part of George III was played by Nigel
Hawthorne who gave 'the performance of his life'.

Wesley Hall, High Wycombe, HP13 6SE If
