Sidcup Past / Future

I was clearing out my old 2001 copies of the Bexley magazine and two photos caught my eye.

The one on the right shows the closed ABC Cinema which will have memories for many past & present residents. The one above shows an artist's impression of a future Safeway supermarket to be opened in the town.

Move on two years, the cinema's appearance remains unchanged & closed while the supermarket opens on 30th April, 2003.
Update 2006: the cinema is replaced by flats ( apartments ) and the supermarket is now Morrisons.

2006: This above artist's impression appeared in Bexley magazine, plans for new leisure centre to open in Spring 2008. Facilities include: 25-metre/six lane swimming pool, learner pool, four-court sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio.
Update 2008: now open to public.
