A Profile of Lymington

Lymington is a picturesque coastal town on the edge of the New Forest. The town is famous for its yachting and sailing facilities, and has two marinas located at the mouth of the Lymington River, which feeds out into The Solent.   The town has a great boat building heritage, a prosperous marine industry. and also features a ferry link to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight

Lymington possesses a unique series of cobbled streets which lead down to the pretty main quay area, popular with visitors who wish to sit, relax and watch the world sail by.

Lymington was once used by smugglers to bring their illegal imports ashore but nowadays legal retailing takes place, particularly during the weekly market, held every Saturday in the main high street.
