Steve Tatham has been the public voice and face of the Royal Navy during some of its most difficult recent operations. As head of the RN media team he was the public spokesman for operations in Iraq in 2003 and provided specialist media support to senior military and political figures.  He managed the media operations desk in the UK Ministry of Defence throughout military operations in Afghanistan and was one of the Spokesman for the British military intervention in Sierra Leone.  Steve has also represented the UK military on numerous and extended visits to the Middle East, including acting as spokesman on the Arab TV channel Al-Jazeera.  In more benign environments he has presented the Navy's view during the National Fire-fighters strike and assisted the Royal Press Office during HM The Queen's State visit to Norway and the departure of HRH Prince Andrew for Naval Service

Steve has trained was a professional broadcast cameraman by the BBC and has commanded the military Combat Camera Teams in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Many of the images and footage collected by the team featured prominently in the world's coverage of the war.

As well as reactively responding to media enquiries, Steve was charged with proactively placing stories within the media. This often involved designing a facility, targeting the right media and escorting them to the unit - often abroad. Knowing the media market and the right contacts are the keys to success and Steve has a very wide network of media contacts.
