A tale of a dream come true...

On May 9th 2000 I realized that I made the right
choice that day of 14 years ago when , while watching a video on
deejay television, I decided I was going to fall madly in love for
The Cure.
It
has been a long time and since then, I have never stopped listening
to their music, which has been a constant soundtrack to times of
depression, of fun, changes and growing up...
I was not going to miss it for the world: I flew
to Rome on the 5th of may and the next day me and loredana caught
a train to Florence, ready to go and see the Cure on their Dream
tour.
TMC2 had organized a Ômeet&greetÕ opportunity for a bunch of lucky
lucky winners, and I met with them outside the Palasport around
7...people were already flocking to the venue for the gig...we were
ÔslightlyÕ more excited because we knew that we were going to see
our dream band, our long-lasting heroes...
With us were two of the TV presenters, mariolina
and alex and the man who held the magic list, Francesco....after a
lot of shuffling around and waiting, and panicking and tension growing
stronger and stronger...well
we were taken in the palasport, in front of the steps which were
the way to the back stage...it was only 10 to 9 and the gig was supposed
to start right then...
So we got the ok: we went downstairs trying to
keep calm, but of course flushing and shaking... And there they came:
first Jason and Roger...autographs, pictures...gone!very very quick...but
definitely exciting...then once again Simon and Perry popped out...smiles,
autographs photos, and gone again..
Now we were just waiting for Robert...with a pressure dropping, and
time running out, he started walking down the corridor...we all looked,
we stared, we smiled...we could hardly believe our eyes...some of us
frantically asking him questions, some of us getting his signature
on the skin to have it tattoed..some of us just listening, looking
and getting an autograph, as if a tiny blurb on paper could carry
all the emotions that were going through our minds those moments...
And as quickly as it started it was all over...we
were pushed back, upstairs, happy, flabbergasted and with those
precious slice of life for them so average yet for us so so very
special...
We enjoyed a fabulous show...songs, new and old,
sung in a perfect voice and perfect sound, with amazing visuals
on the backgrounds and 3 solid hours of past and present glories.
But my luck was not over. If that was a blessing,
well, on Tuesday the 9th a
miracle did happen to me...[click to read more]
