1999-2000 season
This site lists details of over 100 chess clubs in Yorkshire. In addition there are about a dozen leagues in which clubs play, mainly throughout the Winter months.
There are a few non-league clubs, some clubs play in more than one league, and some clubs share venues. Nearly all clubs in the Yorkshire League also play in other local leagues, sometimes under other names or at different venues. Details of all these are highlighted in RED for easy cross-referencing.
Details of each club (where to go, when to go, who to contact) are listed below the structure of each league, which is displayed as a simple table. But remember:
MOST CLUBS PROVIDE NON-LEAGUE CHESS AS WELL AS LEAGUE CHESS
so from novice to expert, whatever your taste, there's something for you!
In addition there are the HUMBER LEAGUE and SHEFFIELD WORKS LEAGUE. No information is available at this time.
