The Team

My name is Andrew Ruthven and I run the Panther Sport motor racing team.

I am the Driver but also do all the engine designing and building and chassis set up work for the Mini.

The Engineering/Machining work on the Mini is done by Dave Wells at SH Engineering.

I am also kindly sponsored by SMB-Composites, which supply carbon fibre body panels for the car. They also supply to road cars (smb-composites.co.uk)

My name is Su Ruthven and I and the Main mechanic for the team. I prepare the cars for the race at the weekends which includes head changing, tyre changing re-fueling and other mechanical duties as part of the team.

This is quite surprising to most men who think that it is only the relm of males to do this sort of thing. It also upsets them when I tell them I have also raced and beat men on the track too!!
