MAKING CAKES
THERE ARE FOUR METHODS
THIS IS THE

MELTING METHOD

As the name suggests you melt things to make this cake

The things you melt are -      Sugar     and      Fat

HERE IS THE BASIC RECIPE FOR FLAPJACKS -

125 grms porridge oats or rolled oats                75 grms brown sugar
  75 grms fat                                                       2 tabs golden syrup

THIS RECIPE WOULD NOT MAKE VERY MANY
FOR YOUR GROUP IT HAS BEEN MULTIPLIED BY THREE

THE INGREDIENTS ARE ALREADY WEIGHED OUT AND READY TO USE

HOW MUCH OF EACH INGREDIENT IS THERE?.  THE FIRST ONE HAS BEEN DONE

125 grms of oats x 3 =  375 grms oats            75 grms sugar x 3 =
  75 grms of fat   x 3 =                                    2 tabs. syrup x 3 =

YOUR GROUP IS MADE UP OF THE FOLLOWING

 

 

 

 

YOU ARE TO MAKE THE ABOVE RECIPE WITH THE FOLLOWING ADAPTATION

The basic recipe PLUS DRIED FRUIT. THE FAT YOU WILL BE USING IS SOFT
MARGARINE.            HERE IS HOW YOU MAKE THE FLAPJACKS-

MELT THE MARGARINE AND SUGAR ON A LOW HEAT.  DO NOT STIR.
ADD GOLDEN SYRUP AND THEN STIR IN WELL
ADD THE OATS AND MIX WELL. ADD THE DRIED FRUIT AND MIX WELL AGAIN.
PLACE ON A WELL GREASES BAKING TIN. DO NOT SMOOTH DOWN TO THIN.
AS THIS MAKES IT TASTE DRY AND YUKKY. PLACE IN OVEN TO COOK FOR
APPROX: 12-15 MINUTES AT THE MOST. TEMPERATURE OF OVEN = 4/5 GAS
AND175-190 ELECTRIC. WHEN GOLDEN BROWN TAKE OUT OF OVEN CUT
INTO SQUARES AND LEAVE TO COOL
