Mark 'Billy' Silcox joined Weeble Racing for their first full season in mopeds in 2005. He'd crashed his road bike on track the previous year and suffered serious internal injuries that inspired him to say 'I know, I'll go bike racing.' He was clearly the quickest of the trio in his two seasons, before switching to club racing on a Suzuki SV650 with the British Motorcycle Racing Club.
His first race was at Lydden Hill in March 2007 and he sprinted from 14th on the grid through to win it, giving his old Weeble Racing cronies plenty of excuses for being slower than him. He was the most consistent finisher in his rookie season, filled the window sill with trophies and finished an impressive fourth in the championship.
He's just finished his second season, in with the clubmen rather than rookies, and took eighth place. A winter of thinking, planning and training is lined up in preparation for a third assault on the minitwins championship.

ABOUT MINITWINS
Minitwins is a race series designed as an affordable way into motorcycle racing, based on road bikes aimed at relatively new riders.
Most bikes in the field are Suzuki SV650s and they are capped to 72bhp to ensure a level playing field. Suspension is modified and bodywork fitted from sportier models.
Minitwins race within the British Motorcycle Racing Club (Bemsee) and it's proved a useful entry point for plenty of successful racers.
