ABOUT YPM

Yamaha Past Masters is a racing club that competes within the British Motorcycle Racing Club (Bemsee). It encompasses RD350s, TZR250s and TDR250s.

The 'Past Master' bit of the club's title refers to the bikes rather than the people. The only thing TonyH has ever mastered is the art of procrastination and piss-taking, and certainly not bike racing.

For more info on the class, go to www.ypmrc.co.uk

Tony H got hooked on two-strokes when team friend Keith Roissetter invited him to ride his spare Yamaha TZR250. Tony finished just outside the points in his first races on the bike at Snetterton, then gave it one more shot at Cadwell Park. He picked up 16 points, made it into the top 10 and did the deal to buy a bike for 2008.

In his first season he's learnt a lot, crashed quite a bit, met some brilliant people, overdosed on adrenalin and spent more money than he would like to admit. He ended with 152 points for a 13th place finish and was voted most improved rider of the season in the Yamaha Past Masters class. He

A programme of fairing repairs, engine rebuilds and general maintenance awaits before the hairy one launches another assault on the club racing circuit in 2009.
