Lincolnshire wolds-Tennyson country
Our hotel was named after Alfred Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate. He was born in 1809 at Somersby in the wide, rolling landscape of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The wolds are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Mementoes of Tennyson's life can still be seen at Somersby village church, at which his father was Rector.
Collections of memorabilia and portraits relating to Tennyson can be seen at The Usher Art Gallery in Lincoln.
