Model designed & built by Don McWalter
(Mac. to us).
The idea came about as we regularly fly at shows
with the 'Ghost Squadron' display team, and it was
thought it would be good to take the p
mickey out of them.
So Mac got to work and produced four individual
ghosts (from paper covered foam, of course)
and linked them together with aluminium tubes.
Mount an engine (a '90' size) on the front, aileron servos in the rear outer ghosts, with elevator on the centre one (see picture at right) - & give it a go.
On the first flight (after several attempts to take
off), the turning circle was so large it nearly flew
out of our flying site boundary (& our site is
BIG !)
Further tweaking finally sorted it out, but not in time
for the 1999 show season - Maybe in 2000.
