WREN ENGINES

As I am a director of 'Wren Turbines ltd, all of my models use Wren engines with the exception of the first Jet 1, which used my home-built 'Schreckling' engine.

JET ONE

Designed by Terry Lee

The first jet I ever made was for my home made 'Schreckling' engine. When we made the first Wren 54 engine, this was thought to be the ideal model. As it is very easy to fly, it became the standard jet trainer for the local 'jet jockeys'. This particular model is number 7, & consists of a glass fibre fuselage (the original was plywood) foam wings & balsa tail feathers. Because it can fly slowly, while still capable of aerobatics, it is suited to flying off small club fields.

Engine is a Wren 54 Mk 3
Thrust is 14 pounds
Wingspan 65"
Weight 11 pounds.

KIT KAT

BUTTERFLY

Engine is Wren Super Sport.

WREN AIRLINER

Designed by Terry Lee

Powered by two early Wren 44's. The model is modified from a '60' powered pusher (see CAMERA PLANE on the 'YOUR MODELS' page). It was re-designed to test the operation of two engines in the simplest form. Engines are both hand started & fed from one 1.5 litre fuel tank. If flown gently (scale like) a flight time of 10 minutes is easily attainable.

Span - 8 foot
Weight - 14 lb
