KIM HOOKER PROFILE


Real Name: Andrew Jones... no honestly it is. I got into KISS in 1977 and thought I can't be in KISS with a name like Andy Jones, so I became Kim Hooker, I haven't felt like Andy Jones since I bought KISS alive.

Family: I've been with my partner Selina for 10 years, we plan to get married next year, and we're soul mates.


Who are your favourite vocalists?
Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Rob Halford, Johnny Rotten, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie Dio and David Lee Roth.


What is your best Tailz memory?
I spoke to Gene Simmons and said 'I'm from Tigertailz' , he said 'I'm aware of that band' . I knew I had arrived...

What do you like to eat?
Selina's Sunday dinner (any day of the week), Chinese and Indian.


 What are your favourite Tailz songs?
  Dirty Needles, TYFHO, Sick Sexx, and Love Bomb Baby

What is your best life experience so far? I hate to sound like a stuck record, but when I bought KISS Alive, it changed my life; honestly I can't even put it into words. Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss my whole world.
Favourite hobbies? Formula 1, I loved Damon Hill, but now of course there is only one Michael Schumacher, 'The Dog's Twitcher, I also like Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button, See U at Siverstone..


Where do you live? Pontypridd, Wales, UK. I was born in Cardiff but moved to the valleys in the mid 90's.


What equipment do you use for studio & live gigs?
Usually a microphone stinking of rancid roadie breath, Marshall Silver Jubilee 50W Head, 4x12's 1977 Ibanez Paul Stanley (PS10), Epiphone Ace Frehley, Gibson Les Paul.


Tailz worst memory?
It was the first day of one of our tours, I turned on the TV to hear that Freddie Mercury had died, when I arrived at the tour bus the atmosphere was terrible, I hated that tour I just wanted to get home.

What do you like to drink?
I'll drink anything that gets me drunk, it's all horrible but I can't drink Tennants Super.
What's the best song you think the Tailz have written?
Dirty Needles, TYFHO, Sick Sex and Love Bomb Baby 		Favourite Band/s?
Van Halen, Queen, Judas Priest, Sex Pistols, Manowar, Motley Crue, Ozzy, ETC, but I have to say I bought KISS Alive in 1977 and it totally changed my life, KISS became everything to me I would have died for them. Any real KISS fan that reads this will know what I mean...
What do you think about the Tailz reforming?
It's what I've been waiting for, I haven't felt right since we stopped. I have everything I ever wanted except my band, now I have that as well.



Do you think the Tailz will record or play live again?
Last year I was playing BASS with some friends in a band called StormCrow containing one of the original Tailz guitarists Keith Stewart (Tosh) to see if I was still into it, I can tell you now I am. Stick the Sick Sex intro on now... I'm ready...



Do you have a final message for the Tailz fans?
I can't wait to release more CD's and go out and play live again. One thing that has changed is the respect I have for my old band mates and the music we made together. You really can't grow as close to anyone as your band buddies. You go through so much together, the good and the bad, which is why I promise you all, I won't go away again. CU ALL SOON...
