Comments:

Balmoral was built to compete with P & A Campbell's Cambria. When entering service in 1900, she carried a white funnel. During the 1930's this changed to red. In addition to her Isle of Wight and South Coast trips, she was often employed on the Cherbourg route. After service in two world wars she was in too poor a condition to refit and was scrapped in 1949. Balmoral closely resembled Westward Ho and Britannia. When new she was said to be capable of 20 knots and regularly achieved 18 knots in service.
