Comments:
This steamer also features in the South Coast section of this site as Consul. She was similar in appearance to the Duchess of Devonshire, although had a much extended working life, surviving in service until 1964. As the Duke of Devonshire she sailed principally from Torquay, where this picture was taken, and also from Exmouth on general excursion work. She was sold to Cosens & Co in 1938 and her later career can be seen on the Consul page.
